Disney featuring Women's March Madness on its ABC network, and ESPN dedicated a show just to the tournament. Talk to Haley Rosen and the Just Women's Sports team, and they’ll tell you the three things that need to happen for the future of women's sports to arrive is media coverage, investment and change in marketing. It hit me at that moment - and why I took the picture - that their excitement was a very small, but important signal of the ongoing sea change and future possibilities in women’s sports. Benjamin and his teammates immediately sat in the front row to watch a game, following intently, cheering and jumping as points were scored. There was a girls high school volleyball tournament going on in full force. After an early morning game, we ventured inside the indoor facility for warmth and food. Yes, ChatGPT Is Coming for Your Office JobĪs I've waded deeper into the weekend sports tournaments with my son, I am discovering an appreciation for the long hours between games. Read the full story at WIRED: #chatgpt #futureofwork #jobs David Autor, a professor at MIT whose students ran the study, tells me that it is a hopeful sign for the future-since ideally we want AI to elevate workers' skills rather than replace them. It shows that the tool can help make workers more productive without replacing them, and can be especially useful for less skilled workers. One shows that a significant number of jobs-especially roles like telemarketing and teaching-involve just the kind of language skills that ChatGPT exhibits, suggesting it could have a broad impact.īut a second study offers a more nuanced look at how something like ChatGPT might be used in office work. It’s an unsettling time, especially when surprising new AI capabilities appearing so fast.Ī couple of research papers offer some intriguing clues though. If your life isn't working so great, this book may be just what you need to turn things around.Anyone who has spent a few minutes playing with ChatGPT will understand why there’s so much speculation around how it might affect jobs. If your life is working great, I think this book still holds a lot of insight for you. Living the way Howard suggests is a lot to ask. That is how they maintain their tricky hold on the mind. In fact, it's a master at scaring you and keeping you bound by it. But why not? If you really want to change you need to be a zealot. Then once we understand what that is (that we need to wake up) we'll be free from them. Pain and suffering are our indications that we're living unconsciously and rather than trying to escape from them we should try to understand them. When we are in the right stream, we have no concern with the movements of the boat from left to right, that is, we need not care what life decides for us. And the wisdom is just gushing out of this book.Īgain Howard's main theme is that we are living unconsciously, tied, painfully, to our "false self," and that our freedom lies in abandoning that false self to our "true self," which is above the petty ego concerns of the false self. As I said in my review of his book The Mystic Path to Cosmic Power I think books like these that get read and reviewed so infrequently is because they are only meant for those with the capacity to receive their wisdom. Loaded with counterintuitive wisdom of the highest order. Granted, another tacky title but who cares.
